.LIFE AT THE CHASM

/a Life at the Chasm is a piece of abstract fine art animation following the trend at n-t-y studios to develop experimental pieces with evocative and tactile goals.

/a this piece is about the very beginnings of life, imagining cells grouping themselves amongst rocks looking to sculpt the best shape and body to survive nature, with that in mind each scene in the piece represents an organism, at times beautiful, at times destructive, reshaping and deforming looking to strive and build its own lifeform.

to ensure this vision the piece utilizes abstract simulations in CGI to capture its initial philosophy and idea.

/a " for me simulations in CGI were always a representation of life, not because they were vastly used to represent the elemental forces in VFX but because even though you could control it to your heart's content, it was always a bit random too, to me that was always a parallel for acceptance, your input defines your output with a bit of randomness for seasoning, just like life... /a " the animation was an important part of the piece too of course, as we were constructing parallels, at times I wanted for it to be slow and contemplative and at times a bit more erratic, but out of everything it was important that the motion built some kind of shape, or destroyed it  even at randomness there are patterns... "
