/a this is a project that englobes a variety of themes, but it started with the way I see antennas on top of buildings and how it connects to where I grew up, and that place was full of antennas of top of buildings, many of them were deactivated but none of them were removed, making them living fossils to me, vestiges of a lost signal that you could not reach anymore, so I wanted to make an NFT project out of this vision, primaraly because I lost the heat and the timing of NFT, as I usually do, but also because I still believe that the space brings a lot of relevance to us, digital artists, and all tho the space is shifting to a different kind of NFT, I wanted to start simple with a collection about something that meant a lot to me, because its that loss of signal that I still feel to this day, while I still search through this vast world of art for my connections.

/a the project is built uppon 5 initial designs and 10 renders, close ups, light shifts and so on... and with those I built them and broke them up with an ominous glitch art style, since I felt that I wanted to go back to some roots of graphical art and to a time where after effects was the magic tool due to recent events in our history, so I stricly strived for a minimal and simple process to make these pieces, using native after effects tools.

/a the project retains one main graphial short animation as introduction, 52 vertical pieces, and also the broken pieces, this piece will be better enjoyed at the darkest hours of the day, and with and monitor set to normal contrast since it carries a lot of dark images.

/a the project was created with its highlight being the extracted pieces from the bigger animation piece, these extracted pieces are the vertical shots, consisting in the initial renders and the broken renders from after effects.

/a as the project is composed by breaking down and distorting the initial footage created, the glitch art effects are very important in the project, and fills in the huge whole which was representing the signal, and the ominous, darl, ghastly and cold style represents the loss of connection and decay, being left stranded.

/behinde the scenes

/bts the project was created with a simple combo of cinema4d, after effects and premiere pro, a rahter old schoool motion design combo, the process started by hand modelling each antenna asset I was going to use inside cinema4d, creating then my own kitbash set, which was used to compose the scenes, the gold of the project came when everything was inside after effects, amd the distortions, lights and treatments came to be.

/bts due to some recent events I wanted to go back to my roots, so I hand moddeled the antennas and used native after effects toolbox of effects to create my own presets as much as I could, in the end I used but one plugin, omino's diffusion, on a couple of shots, but I combined it with my own CRT effect, creating an intrecate look and varying distortions.

/bts each scene was rendered in arnold using procedural materials with noises and textures that I had in my libraries.
